| | A Place Beside Mother |
| | |
| | If I could only ask God -- in His high place |
| | To bring back her youth and forever erase, |
| | Those tired worried lines from her dear sweet face, |
| | If I could only ask... |
| | |
| | If I could only ask God -- for just one more request, |
| | to lay my tired head on her warm mother's breast |
| | If I could only ask God through his great power |
| | To relive with mother just one childhood hour |
| | I would cherish the moments when she would hold me so |
| | close, and brush away the tears when I hurt the most. |
| | If I could only ask... |
| | |
| | I'd remember the times she calmed all my fears |
| | just by her presence through the years. |
| | My mother is precious and so is her love |
| | because it's given unselfishly and came from above. |
| | |
| | If I could only ask God for some way to convey |
| | the love for my mother that I feel every day. |
| | May God and my mother forgive me I pray |
| | for any grief or trouble that I have brought her way. |
| | So now I'm asking you God to please save me a place, so my |
| | soul may join mother's -- |
| | In your high place. |

| | Mom wrote this poem just days before her untimely death. |
| | |
| | | | "If I could only ask God--for just | | one more request, To lay my tired | | head on her warm mother's breast. | | If I could only ask God through | | His great power | | To relive with mother just one | | childhood hour". |
| | "Mom and me | | | when I was 3" | |
